Alisa LaGamma is curator in the Department of the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the organizer of Eternal Ancestors: The Art of the Central African Reliquary. As the Africa specialist at the Metropolitan, she has organized numerous special exhibitions and their accompanying publications, including Echoing Images: Couples in African Sculpture (2004) and Genesis: Ideas of Origins in African Sculpture (2002–2003).
