Doubles and Twins: A New Approach to Contemporary Studio Photography in West Africa

C. Angelo Micheli has been studying African studio photographers and twinness in West Africa for five years, at the Lumière University and the World Cultures Museum of Lyon. He is also the curator of two exhibitions: one at the Honfleur Photo Festival (France) in May 2007, where some of these photographs were displayed, and another of Tidiani Shitou's double portraits, exhibited in an African art gallery in Lyon in October 2007. A book is planned on the same subject. [email protected]
