Annemieke Van Damme-Linseele obtained her PhD in Sciences of Art at the University of Ghent (Belgium) in 1998. She has several publications to her name on the traditional art of the Loma (Liberia, Sierra Leone, French Guinea) and on the Nkanu and Mbeko (Lower Congo), among whom she didfieldwork in 1990–1991.
