Belle Asante Tarsitani, an American, long-term resident of Japan, is a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellow at ASAFAS, Kyoto University. Since 2002, she has carried out extensive anthropological research in Ethiopia on the traditional arts and museums of Harar. Her current focus is on developing a framework to merge indigenous praxes and international standards in African museums. [email protected]
