Clémentine M. Faïk-Nzuji is Emerita Professor of African Linguistics, Literatures, Cultures, and Arts at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, where she continues to direct the International Center for African Languages and Traditions (CILTA) that she founded in the early 1980s. Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, she holds a doctorate from the University of Paris III. Her publications include La Puissance du sacré (1993) and Arts africains. Signes et symboles (2000); she is also a prize-winning poet and novelist. faik.nzuji@uclouvain.be.
