Steven Nelson, a contributing editor for African Arts, is Associate Professor of African and African American Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is author of From Cameroon to Paris: Mousgoum Architecture in and out of Africa (Chicago, 2007) and is currently completing a manuscript, titled On the Underground Railroad.
