Rachel Ama Asaa Engmann
PhD candidate in the Anthropology Department and Archaeology Center at Stanford University. She received her Master's degree in Museum Anthropology and Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, both from Columbia University. Her dissertation research focuses on nineteenth century Islamic talismans in Asante, Ghana. She is the co-founder and co-director of a nonprofit and a foundation, both dedicated to education and literacy in Ghana as well as a consultant for several international non-governmental development organizations that work in Africa. rengmann@stanford.edu
