Courtnay Micots is the author of publications examining African colonial period architecture and Fancy Dress masquerade; her research is primarily concerned with the hybrid arts of coastal Ghana. She received her PhD in African Art History from the University of Florida in 2010 and has taught at Florida Southern College, the University of Florida, the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, the University of South Florida, the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana in Legon, and Elon University.
