Carlee Forbes is a doctoral student in African art history at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her master's thesis research at the University of Florida focused on Kongo raffia textiles and mats. Victoria L. Rovine is Associate Professor of Art History at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. From 2005–2014, she was on the faculty at the University of Florida. Her second book is African Fashion, Global Style: Histories, Innovations, and Ideas You Can Wear (Indiana University Press, 2015).
