Fukunari Kimura asked if the prices of electronic credit transfer service, the focus of the paper, had come down after the sector was deregulated—as that would show whether or not competition was good for the sector. Lurong Chen wanted to know if the fixed costs of providing the service was high and the marginal cost was low. There was a strong case for marginal cost pricing only in such a scenario. Furthermore, he cautioned that banks were engaged in other types of operations as well and the effects of deregulating one part of their operations on their other service has to be considered as well.
