George M. Woodwell is Founder, President, and Director Emeritus of the Woodwell Climate Research Center in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a former president of the Ecological Society of America, a founding trustee and Vice Chairman of the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the author of Forests in a Full World, The Nature of House: Building a World That Works, and other books.
