Howard Poizner is Director and Research Professor of Poizner Lab at the Institute of Neural Computation, Research Professor at the Institute for Engineering in Medicine, and a member of the Neurosciences Graduate Program and the Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind, all at the University of California, San Diego.

Edward Klima was Emeritus Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, San Diego. Klima was also Adjunct Professor at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego and Associate Director of the Institute's Laboratory for Cognitive Neuroscience.

Ursula Bellugi is Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Cognitive Neurosciences at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. She is the coauthor of What the Hands Reveal about the Brain (MIT Press, 1990).
