The SSL 12 is a twelve-input, eight-output desktop USB audio interface that supports sample rates up to 192 kHz at 32-bit depth. It can be digitally controlled using an accompanying software application.
The rear panel has four Neutrik XLR combination microphone/line input ports. The microphone preamplifiers have a two-stage design that uses discrete low-noise transistors with integrated circuits to give low-noise performance of 130 dBu equivalent input noise (EIN) and a gain range of 62 dB. There are also two dedicated instrument inputs for use with guitar and bass located on the front edge panel for easy access. An ADAT optical input port gives an additional eight channels of digital audio input. The rear panel also has a MIDI input/output and 1/4-in TRS jack outputs for two sets of speakers.
