Carolyn Barnes is a senior research fellow in the Faculty of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia, where she is involved in a range of research projects investigating the role of art and design in public communication. Carolyn holds a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne. Her monograph on the Hong Kong Australian artist John Young was published by Craftsman House in 2005.

Barbara Hall is a doctoral student in the Faculty of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Her thesis investigates the promotion of Australian design, Australia's participation in Expo '67 forming a major case study. Barbara has worked as an independent curator and scholar, exploring the work of Australian women artists. She is the co-author of the 1986 monograph, Australian Women Photographers 1840 to 1960.

Simon Jackson is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Simon received his Ph.D. from Monash University exploring the history of design in Australia. His research interests include the role history plays in informing new product development. His recent articles appear in Scandinavian Journal of Design History, Journal of Design History and Journal of Design Research.
