Hybrid Identities and Paralyzing Traditions: Contemporary Croatian Design within the Context of Social Transition

Fedja Vukić is lecturer on design theory and history at the Graduate School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Professional training included PhD in design theory at the Department of Design, Academy of Fine Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is a fellow of The Wolfsonian Fundation Research Centre, Miami Beach 1995. He publishes reviews, articles and scientific papers on visual communications and design in Croatian and international magazines. He has published and edited several books on topic, including Modern Zagreb (1992), Building on the Borders, (1995), A Century of Croatian Design, (1996), Zagreb-Modernity and the City, (2003).
