René Spitz
René Spitz is a design critic of Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne with over 250 publications. He specializes in the Ulm School of Design and the social responsibility of design. He is a Forum lecturer of design history and theory in Düsseldorf and Cologne. He was the Head of International Design Forum Ulm Advisory Board between 2003 and 2007. In 1997, he completed his dissertation “The Political History of the Ulm School of Design, 1953–1968” and received his PhD from the University of Cologne.
