Recognizing Design: The Artistic Director as Silent Designer

Hyunjoo Lee is a lecturer in the College of Music at Ewha Womans University, where she teaches Music Arts Management. She received a PhD in Design from the Institute for the Contemporary Arts at Lancaster University. Her research focuses on the intersection of design management and cultural policy, and the role of creative events and city branding in urban regeneration. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Cultural Policy; she is co-editor (with Haekyung Um) of Rediscovering Traditional Korean Performing Arts (Korea Arts Management Service, 2012), and has previously served as the Asia Correspondent for the Architects’ Journal.
