Oscillating Between Four Orders of Design: The Case of Digital Magazines

Daniel Nylén is a PhD student at Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, Department of Informatics, Umeå University, Sweden. His research examines the digitalization of a number of contexts and industries. A particular focus is investigating emerging digital innovation processes in the media industry.

Jonny Holmström,
Jonny Holmström
Jonny Holmström is professor of Informatics at Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, Department of Informatics, Umeå University, Sweeden. His research has examined how organizations innovate with IT. This focus draws attention to the processes through which technological artifacts co-evolve with social contexts. He is currently investigating how organizations in the process industry sector can develop sustainable competitive advantages through mindful use of IT, and how media organizations make use of a heterogeneous media portfolio. Holmström's work on these topics cuts across the fields of Information Systems Studies, Organization Studies, Communication Studies, and Science and Technology Studies, and he has published in leading journals in these fields.

Kalle Lyytinen
Kalle Lyytinen
Kalle Lyytinen (PhD, University of Jyvaskyla, Dr. h.c. Umeå University) is Iris S. Wolstein professor at Case Western Reserve University, a CIIR professor at Umeå University, Sweden, and a visiting professor at LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science). He serves on the editorial boards of several journals including Organization Science and Requirements Engineering. He has published over 250 refereed articles and conference papers covering all major outlets in the information system and organization theory field. He is involved in research that explores the IT induced radical innovation, digitalization of complex design processes, requirements modeling for large scale systems, and digital infrastructures.
