Ivonne Murillo is the cover designer for this issue (volume 40, number 3 Summer 2024) of Design Issues. She is a senior lecturer at the Sciences and Arts for Design Centre at Autonomous Metropolitan University in Mexico City. Ivonne has taught several modules about editorial design and conceptual and practical approaches to artists' books for undergraduate students. Her artistic practice and research project involve bringing to light the hidden technical processes in printed books as well as the complexity of decoding poetry and, specifically, haiku. Some of her artists' books are held in international public collections at Tate Britain, MMU Special Collections, and Minnesota Center for Book Arts.
