Cannes Brûlées

Received his PhD in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1965. He has done extensive field research in the history of kalinda, pan, calypso, and other aspects of Carnival. His publications include From Congo Drum to Steelband (University of the West Indies, 1969) and, most recently, Brown Girl in the Ring (Pantheon, 1998), which was coedited with Alan and Bess Lomax. He is currently building a Heritage Village in Tobago
