Somewhere, Over the Rainbow: White-Female-Canadian Dramaturge in Cape Town

Worked as a developmental dramaturge for theatre and dance on three continents as well as maintaining an active profile as a writer, educator, and contemporary theatre historian for two decades. Her new work creating methodologies using The Four Elements and LOMO photography have been used in England, Cuba, South Africa, and York University, where she coordinates the graduate and undergraduate programs in playwriting and dramaturgy. Judith is the only foreigner declared an Honorary Member of Cuba's Teatro Escambray and the first Canadian recipient of the Elliott Hayes Prize in Dramaturgy for her collaboration on Sampradaya Dance Creations' production of Revealed by Fire. Her most recent book, with American Lynn M. Thomson, is Between the Lines: The Process of Dramaturgy (Playwrights Canada Press, 2002).
