She is the author of No Man's Stage: A Semiotic Study of Jean Genet's Plays (UMI Research Press, 1986) and Staging Place: The Geography of Modern Drama (University of Michigan Press, 1985), editor of Rachel's Brain and Other Storms: The Performance Scripts of Rachel Rosenthal (Continuum, 2001), coeditor of Land/Scape/Theater (University of Michigan, 2002), and guest editor of a special issue of Yale's Theater magazine on “Theater and Ecology” (25:1, 1995).
