Anna Halprin's Urban Rituals

Janice Ross is a Lecturer in Dance History at Stanford University, California. Her publications include Moving Lessons: Margaret H'Doubler and the Beginning of Dance in American Education (University of Wisconsin Press, 2000), and “Revolution for the Art of It: Anna Halprin and Avant-Garde Dance”, in Everything Was Possible: (Re) Inventing Dance in the 1960s, edited by Sally Banes (University of Wisconsin Press, 2003). She is the recipient of a 2001 Guggenheim for a book on the dance works of Anna Halprin.
