Kati Rö;ttger

Kati Rö;ttger is Chair of Theatre Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She has been a lecturer at Humboldt University (Berlin) and the University of München, and Assistant Professor at the University of Mainz from 1998 to 2005, where she finished her habilitation thesis about theatre as a medium of vision. Her current research is about intermedial and intercultural performance analysis, picture theory and visuality, and spectacular practices in 19th-century theatre.

Alexander Jackob

Alexander Jackob is currently working on his PhD thesis about “The Relationship between Theatre, Picture and Image in Historical and Systematical Perspectives” at the Department of Philosophy, University of Amsterdam. He was a lecturer at the University of Mainz, where he had received a degree in film and theatre studies, and the University of Amsterdam, and has published various articles about film, theatre, and picture theory. Together with Kati Rö;ttger he edited Theater und Bild. Inszenierungen des Sehens (Transcript, 2009).
