Paul Allain is Professor of Theatre and Performance at the University of Kent, Canterbury. He collaborated with the Gardzienice Theatre Association from 1989 to 1993 and is the author of Gardzienice: Polish Theatre in Transition (Routledge, 1997), The Art of Stillness: The Theatre Practice of Tadashi Suzuki (Methuen, 2002; 2009, 2nd edition), and The Routledge Companion to Theatre and Performance, co-written with Jen Harvie (Routledge, 2006; 2014, 2nd edition).
