Abstract
German dance director Helena Waldmann’s Made in Bangladesh (2015) explores how capitalism’s drive for optimization and profit has adverse effects on Bangladeshi workers and European dancers. The choreography and multimedia highlight similarities between the precarious existences of the two groups, but the production does not address the racial and economic disparities.
