Doug Paterson is Professor of Theatre at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has dedicated nearly 25 years to Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and began the Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed Conference (PTO) in 1995. He’s been Chair of the Theatre Department and President of the UNO Faculty Senate, and began the community-based theatres The Dakota Theatre Caravan (1977–1985) and The Diner Theatre in Omaha, NE, in 1983. In August 2011, he received the Lifetime Achievement award in Leadership in Community-Based Theatre given by the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. [email protected]
