Emily Coates
Emily Coates is a dancer, choreographer, and writer. Over her 25-year career, she has performed internationally with New York City Ballet, Mikhail Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project, Twyla Tharp, and Yvonne Rainer, and presented her choreographic work in major dance venues. Her book Physics and Dance, coauthored with particle physicist Sarah Demers, is forthcoming from Yale University Press. She is Associate Professor (adjunct) at Yale University, where she has directed the dance studies curriculum since its inception in 2006. emily.coates@yale.edu
