Participating in Polycentric Climate Governance: The Partnership Choices of Latin American NGOs

Jale Tosun is professor of political science at Heidelberg University, Germany. In the frame of the project “Accelerating Climate Action and the State: Getting to Net Zero” (ACCELZ), funded by the Research Council of Norway, she is an adjunct professor at the University of Oslo, Norway. She is a principal investigator in “Deep Decarbonisation: The Democratic Challenge of Navigating Governance Traps” (DeepDCarb; https://www.deepdcarb.org/), a collaborative research project between the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, and the University of Heidelberg. Emiliano Levario Saad is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science at Heidelberg University, Germany. Denise Gutiérrez is a PhD candidate in economic geography at LMU Munich, Germany. Her research focuses on institutional theory and governance processes in Latin America. Prior to her doctoral studies, Denise earned a master’s degree in the governance of natural resources from Heidelberg University, Germany. Her master’s thesis investigated water governance strategies in Chile during periods of acute water scarcity. The results of the thesis are the basis of the following coauthored publication: “Assisted Network Governance: An Inclusive Innovation to Mitigate Extreme Water Scarcity” (Global Environmental Change 76 [2022]: Article 102577).
