The African Chair or the Charismatic Object

Maria Stavrinaki is Associate Professor of History of Contemporary Art at the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Her publications and research concern the historical avant-gardes, more particularly the imbrications of art, politics, and philosophy. She is currently working on a book on the temporalities of the avant-gardes and a book on Carl Einstein.
