Melanie Gilligan is an artist and writer based in New York and London. She has exhibited her work in numerous exhibitions internationally and has recently received a Paul Hamlyn Award for Artists as well as the 2010 Illy Present Future Award. Her writing appears in publications such as Texte zur Kunst, Artforum, and Mute. She also sings in the band Petit Mal.

Tom Holert is an art historian, critic, and artist based in Berlin who until recently worked as Professor of Epistemology and Methodology of Art Production at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He is the author of Regieren im Bildraum (b_books, 2008) and the co-editor (with Marion von Osten) of Das Erziehungsbild: Zur visuellen Kultur des Pädagogischen (Schlebrügge.Editor, 2010). He regularly contributes to Texte zur Kunst, Artforum, and Camera Austria.
