August Endell (1871–1925) was a self-taught German architect and designer who made significant contributions to psychological aesthetics at the turn of the twentieth century. Trained in philosophy, he was active first in Munich in the artistic circle of Hermann Obrist and later in Berlin, where he founded the Schule für Formkunst before becoming the director of Akademie für Kunst und Kunstgewerbe in Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland).
