Peter Szendy is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre and musicological adviser for the concert programs at the Cité de la musique. He is the author of Apocalypse-Cinema (2015), Kant in the Land of Extraterrestrials (2013), Hits: Philosophy in the Jukebox (2012), Prophecies of Leviathan: Reading Past Melville (2010), and Listen: A History of Our Ears (2007), all published by Fordham University Press.
