The Shot Is Fired Unheard: Sigmund Exner and the Physiology of Reverberation

Viktoria Tkaczyk is Professor for the History of Knowledge at Humboldt University, Berlin, and director of the Research Group “Epistemes of Modern Acoustics” at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. She is the author of Himmels-Falten: Zur Theatralität des Fliegens in der Frühen Neuzeit (Wilhelm Fink, 2011). Her new project is titled “Knowledge of the Ear: A History of Auditory Memory.”
