John Lardas Modern is Arthur and Katherine Shadek Professor of the Humanities at Franklin & Marshall College. He is the author of Neuromatic; or, A Particular History of Religion and the Brain (University of Chicago Press, 2021). Modern cofounded the book series Class 200: New Studies in Religion at the University of Chicago Press and is currently producing the audiovisual series Machines in Between.
