Antonio Somaini is Professor of Film, Media, and Visual Culture Theory at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and a Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF). His latest book (written together with Andrea Pinotti) is Culture visuelle: Images, regards, médias, dispositifs (Presses du Réel, 2022). For Grey Room he has published the article "Walter Benjamin's Media Theory: The Medium and the Apparat," Grey Room 62 (Winter 2016), pp. 6-41.
