Empowering the Rural Poor to Develop Themselves: The Barefoot Approach (Innovations Case Narrative: Barefoot College of Tilonia)

Mr. Roy and the Barefoot College are the recipients of numerous awards including the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Stockholm Challenge Award for Information Technology, and the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement. Mr. Roy was also selected by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship as an Outstanding Social Entrepreneur in 2005.
