Abstract
The act of co-creating extended reality (XR) worlds can be powerful in both storytelling and placemaking. The process not only sparks collective imagination but can also make community-based land-use climate planning more equitable. The WORLDING research team is investigating this co-creative approach by gathering interdisciplinary teams that build sustainable worlds in virtual environments and render them possible in the physical world. This theoretically framed report outlines an iterative experiment in the deployment of worlding as a method and includes stories, data, results, and recommendations that may be of interest to scholars, artists, climate scientists, curators, documentarians, speculative designers, and land-use planners.
