As energetic conceptions of the structure of the universe initiated by physicists have transformed the previously existing mechanistic world landscape, Suprematism, invented by Malevich, announced the supremacy of color energy in painting. Malevich also wrote prophetically on humankind's cosmic future in Suprematism: 34 Drawings (1920), declaring that humankind's spiritual mission was the achievement of “unweightness.” While Malevich did not formally belong to the Russian Cosmist cohort, he metaphorically seemed to continue the development of Cosmist ideas: humankind, resurrected, scattered around the universe, was meant to acquire constellations of “planits” as dwellings.
