Walead Beshty describes the editorial conditions and conceptual parameters for the special issue of Blind Spot that he edited and designed in 2013. Beshty argues that photography is the dominant medium through which the world is formulated, while simultaneously being wholly dissolved into the world it depicts, resulting in a kind of disappearance of the photograph beneath the weight of what it represents, as it becomes indistinguishable from the currents that surround and flow through it as part of the information landscape.
