Branden W. Joseph is Associate Professor of Art History at Columbia University.
He is the author of Random Order: Robert Rauschenberg and the Neo-Avant-Garde (MIT Press, 2003) and a contributor to the catalogue Robert Rauschenberg: Combines (Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, 2005). He is also the author of Anthony McCall: The Solid Light Films and Related Works (Northwestern University Press, 2005) and a founding editor of the journal Grey Room. Currently, he is completing Beyond the Dream Syndicate, which focuses on musician, filmmaker, and video artist Tony Conrad for Zone Books.
