Christine Mehring is Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Chicago. Her Blinky Palermo: Abstraction of an Era is forthcoming this fall. She is currently working on a book about abstraction, decoration, and design in the twentieth century and co-editing an essay collection on Gerhard Richter.
