Van Badham is an Australian writer who studied at both the University of Wollongong and the University of Sheffield, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Writing/Performance at the University of Wollongong. She is the award-winning author of more than 30 internationally-produced plays. In Australia, her plays have had seasons at the Sydney Opera House studio, Wharf studio, Victorian Arts Centre and Adelaide Festival. Her first UK production, Kitchen, was produced at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2002, and was followed there by Bedtime for Bastards and Camarilla (both 2003) and Waitin' 4 Da G and Nikolina (both 2004). Badham's work has been staged in London at the King's Head and Theatre503, and at The Belt and the East Village Festival in New York and by Living Theatre in Reykjavik. In 2005, Nikolina makes a UK regional tour and Black Hands/Dead Section premieres at LAMDA. Her first radio drama for the BBC, In the Dark, was broadcast last June. The author was awarded the Fringe Report (UK) award for Best Playwright, 2004–5.
