Lysistrata on the Arabic Stage

Marina Kotzamani is an assistant professor in the theatre department of the University of the Peloponnese in Greece and a freelance dramaturg. She has published articles on the production and reception of Greek drama in the West in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Recent work includes “Lysistrata Joins the Soviet Revolution: Aristophanes as Engaged Theatre” in John Dillon and S. E. Wilmer, eds. Rebel Women: Staging Ancient Greek Drama Today (London: Methuen, 2005). Dr. Kotzamani was a consultant and translator in Ellen Stewart's productions of Antigone (2004) and Perseus (2005), both presented at La MaMa, Etc.
