Lingan has a Ph.D. in Theatre Studies from The Graduate Center, CUNY and has taught academic and practical theatre courses at NYU, Baruch College, Marymount Manhattan College, Hunter College, and City College. He is an adjunct instructor of theatre at NYU, a guest director at Baruch College, and the founder/director of the International Institute for the Study of Performance and Spiritual Movements.
