Manifesto for a New Theatre

Thomas Simpson
Thomas Simpson is College Lecturer in Italian at Northwestern University. He has translated theatre writings by Giorgio Strehler, Marco Paolini, Teatro delle Albe, Eduardo De Filippo, Carlo Goldoni, Ruzante, and Antonio Fava. In 2005 he organized a project in Chicago in which Teatro delle Albe staged a version of Ubu Roi, rewritten by African immigrant students in Chicago Public High Schools, and performed it at the Museum of Contemporary Art there. He is currently researching nineteenth-century media circus trials in Rome.
