Phillip Lopate
Phillip Lopate is the author of a dozen books—essay collections, film criticism, novels, poetry—including Waterfront, Getting Personal, Two Marriages, Notes on Sontag and Totally Tenderly Tragically. He is also the editor of several anthologies, such as Art of the Personal Essay, Writing New York and American Movie Critics. He teaches in the graduate division of Columbia University, and lives with his wife and daughter in Brooklyn.
