Peter Handke and the Language of War

Scott Abbott is professor of philosophy and humanities at Utah Valley University. His translations include Peter Handke's A Journey to the Rivers or Justice for Serbia and The German Army and Genocide: Crimes Against War Prisoners, Jews, and Other Civilians, 1939–1944. With Žarko Radaković, he published Ponavljanja (Repetitions: Travels in a Novel(ist)'s Landscape), and Vampiri + Razumni recnik (Vampires + A Reasonable Dictionary). The latter book includes an account of a trip with Peter Handke up the Drina River between the Yugoslav civil wars.
