Between the Wall and the Future: Report from Berlin

Matt Cornish
Matt Cornish is assistant professor of theatre history at Ohio University. During 2013–14, he held a DAAD Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Berlin, which generously underwrote much of the research for this article. His essays have also appeared in Theatre Journal, TheatreForum, and n+1 online, and he contributes to Theater der Zeit. Currently, he is completing a manuscript on performances of history and nation in Germany following reunification, and is also editing a collection of contemporary German performance texts.
