Leaning, Carrying, Standing: Gordon Hall and the Politics of Form

Ethan Philbrick is a performer and scholar based in Brooklyn and currently completing a PhD in performance studies at NYU. His dissertation discusses the shifting conditions of collective artistic and political praxis in the 1970s. He has recently served as assistant editor at TDR as well as assistant to Anna Deavere Smith at the Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue and is currently a member of the Women and Performance editorial collective.
